PATTON, Homer P. - Funeral services for H.P. Patton, aged 30, prominent young farmer of Pea Ridge whose death occurred early Sunday morning following an attack of appendicitis and an emergency operation one week earlier, were held Monday afternoon at Buttram's Chapel near Pea Ridge. Mr. Patton was born near the historic Elkhorn Tavern on the Pea Ridge battlefield and married the daughter of J.C. Cox, the present owner of the tavern. Besides his wife and small daughter he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nora Latimer of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Patterson of Pea Ridge and Mrs. Forrest Nopper of Tulsa, He is also survived by three uncles, James, Clem and Dick Mayfield, all prominent farmers of the Pea Ridge section, and by a number of other relatives and a great number of friends.

Homer Patton, who died Sunday following an operation for appendicitis at a hospital in Rogers, was buried at the Buttram Chapel cemetery Monday morning. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, his mother, Mrs. Nora Latimer of Tulsa, two sisters, Mrs. Jewell Nopper of Tulsa and Mrs. Cable Patterson of Pea Ridge.

{from Elkhorn} Homer Patton died at an early hour Sunday morning at the Home Hospital following an emergency operation for appendicitis. Funeral services were held Monday at Buttram Chapel and were conducted by Rev. J.M. Martin. Burial in Buttram cemetery. Mr. Patton was born August 22, 1892, being 36 years, ten months and two days old at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Lottie Scott, daughter of L.D. Scott and wife of Elkhorn Tavern March 18, 1913, who survives him. He leaves a small daughter, Bess. Also his mother, Mrs. Nora Latimer, and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Nopper of Tulsa and Mrs. Lena Patterson of Pea Ridge. He was a nephew of Dick, Clem and Jim Mayfield of Pea Ridge. He died leaving to his loved ones and friends the blessed assurance that all was well with his soul. He was honest in his dealings with his fellowmen and loyal to his family. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
