Willis W. Brewer was born on January 20, 1872 and passed away
near his home in Cave City Arkansas on November 12, 1935. He first married Miss Leona Aldridge, Nov 4, 1895. to this union were born three children, one whom died in childbirth along with his mother. The other two, Mrs. Ella Burge and Mrs Stella Wade, survive him. His first wife , Leone, died May 26, 1899 with a son, Willis West Brewer, Jr.
He Married to Miss Carrie Ann Davidson Jan 19, 1902 and to their union were born three children, Arthur Brewer, Lee Brewer and Mrs. Ila A. Brewer Taylor, all whom along with their mother survive him. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He was converted at the age of 13 and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church South of which he was a faithful member until his death. He had been a member of the Board of Stewards for many years. Altho in poor health for at least a year he was constantly looking for a way to do something for his Church and Pastor.
No body will be missed more by the Church, Community and friends then
Bro. Brewer. Funeral services were conducted at Flat Rock Church by Rev.
G.H. McGhehey, assisted by Rev. Edgar Wilkerson. Burial was in Cave City
Cemetery.
He has fought a good fight, he has kept the Faith, and gone on to receive the Crown that was laid up for him. Well done, Good and Faithful Servant, enter thou into the Joy of thy Lord....Words by his Pastor Rev. G.H. McGhehey.
