LOONEY, Alice LIMING - Mrs. Alice Looney, wife of Virgil Looney, died at four o'clock Sunday morning at her home on South Fourth street after a brief illness of about two weeks. Death was the result of kidney trouble and ensuing complications. Her condition was serious from the very first and the doctors could give but little hope for recovery. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday morning at nine o'clock and were conducted by Rev. L.L. Brannon of the First M.E. church. Interment was at the city cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Queen Esther class of young women at the M.E. church and her classmates and those of her husband in the Busy Men's Bible class sent a huge sheaf of beautiful roses as a token of their affection and tender sympathy. Alice Liming was born near Garfield, although most of her life was spent in Rogers. She was 28 years, 4 months and 22 days old and was married Sept. 16, 1907 to Virgil Looney. She leaves a mother, Mrs. Puckett, a brother, Henry Liming, and one sister, Mrs. R.A. Lunsford of Sweetwater, Texas who had been called here by the illness of Mrs. Looney. For a number of years, Mrs. Looney, or "Alice," as we all knew her best, was a compositor in the printing offices of Rogers and while she was never a regular employee of the Democrat office she often worked here for weeks at a time and the writer knew her as one of the most faithful industrious girls ever in an office. During the last year or two she often helped in the office in a "pinch" against the advice of her family and doctor, just because she wanted to help and knew that she was needed. Her untimely death is a great sorrow to the large circle of friends and the bereaved husband has the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
