BENTONVILLE — Raymond Henry "Ray" Traynor, 78, of Bentonville died Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Memorial Hospital in Rogers. He was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Lawrence, Kan., to Barney and Gladys Traynor.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. For 32 years he was a speech clinician for the Wichita (Kan.) Public School System. He lived in Northwest Arkansas for 18 years.

He enjoyed Ham radio and was an instructor for many years. He also enjoyed golf, woodworking, painting and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Traynor of the home; one sister Caroline Hall of Wethersfield, Conn,; one son, Steve Traynor of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Perri Brueggerman of Derby, Kan.; 14 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, the Rev. Ken Parks officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, online at stockdalefuneral.com.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or St. Theodore's Episcopal church in Bela Vista.
