John H. Vopalensky of Mountain View, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2008. He was born February 9, 1938 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. He graduated from Richland Center High School and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. He owned and operated a service station, worked for ServiceMaster in their Sermac division, and later owned and operated a Blue Beacon Truck Wash. He was a member of First Assembly of God and the Gideons. He loved people, especially his family and friends.
He is survived by his dear wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Debra Henderson and son-in-law Dean of Atlanta, Georgia, Sheri Brooks and son-in-law Phil of Swedesboro, New Jersey and Julie Steffenhagen of Bartlett, Tennessee; sister, Nettie Gander and brother-in-law Larry of Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Steve Kelley and wife Diana and Dave Kelley; ten grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, four nieces and five nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Genevieve Vopalensky and one nephew, Larry Dean Gander.
The funeral service is February 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Timbo Valley Assembly of God Church with Brother Dave Campbell officiating. Burial is at Flatwoods Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers are Steve Henderson, Luke Steffenhagen, Jacob Steffenhagen, Tyler Brooks, Logan Brooks and Tim Dunn. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Kelley, Matt Kelley, and Gayle Gander.
