CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Rudolph "Rudy" Loeffler, 92, of Cherokee Village, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at his home.

Born June 28, 1915, in St. Louis, he was the son of Frank and Cecelia Loeffler. He married Lucy Jeff on Sept. 2, 1934, and they were married for 66 years. He worked as a baker in St. Louis and was later transferred to Chicago. He attended electronics school and was an electronics technician for Zenith Company and Web-Cor and retired from Sola Electric Company in Chicago.

He and his wife retired to Cherokee Village 28 years ago. He enjoyed traveling to and entering many events in the Senior Olympics and won many medals. He had an avid interest in poetry and wrote many poems. He was involved in the Rock and Mineral Club as an officer and editor of the club's newsletter for many years. He attended First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village.

Survivors include three children, Barbara (James) Buyer, Rudolph Jon (Gladys) Loeffler and Alice (Paul) Georgian; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and his sister-in-law, Ella Loeffler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m
