Obituary for Mabel Jayne Rogers

Mabel Jayne Rogers, 63, of Elizabeth, Ark., daughter of the late Verlin and Nellie Cordlia Springer Taylor was born June 23, 1942, in Iuka, Ark. She departed this life July 30, 2005, at her home in Elizabeth.

She was united in marriage to Roy Gene Rogers on May 25, 1962, at Gainesville, Mo., and to this union four children were born. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Rogers Sr. of Elizabeth, Ark.; two sons, Roy Rogers Jr. and wife, Beverly of Viola, and Tony Rogers and special friend, Bridget Vaughn of Elizabeth; two daughters -- Anita Hodges and husband Seven of Farmington, Ark., and Julie Howell and husband Jackie of Byron, Ark.; one brother Verlin Taylor and wife, Geneva of Hector, Ark.; ten grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Junior Taylor and grandson Thomas Roy Rogers

The funeral service was held Aug. 1 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment followed in the Elizabeth Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.

Pallbearers were Roy Rogers Jr., Tony Rogers, Jason Rogers Steven Hodges, Mark Taylor and Ronnie Parnell.

Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Howell, Terry Taylor, Mike Rogers and Justin Burrow.

Memorials preferred to the Elizabeth Baptist Church.
