*Obituary (Nealon)

On November 19, 1919, in the small community of El Paso, Arkansas, Morris and Ozella Quick welcomed into their home the birth of their little son, Nealon. The home would be completed with three boys and three girls. Nealon would receive his education through high school and serve a short span of time in the US Army during World War II. He and Earnestine Conner were married in McClellan, Arkansas and made their home in the community of Cotton Plant. It was during this time that Nealon became owner and operator of Quick's Grocery Store. He and Earnestine would experience great sadness in the loss of two infant children, who both lived just a short time after birth. He was a Mason and of the Baptist faith, well known as a Christian man, always ready to speak of the goodness of the Lord. In the quiet times, he would enjoy many hours in the art of painting. After the passing of his wife and the failure of his own health, Nealon moved to Azle, Texas to be near his sister and family. Nealon passed quietly from this earthly life on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Sunny Hills Nursing Home in Decatur, Texas. Little did the family know they would experience the loss of all three brothers within a matter of days, Wayne and Nolan also passed away just a short time before Nealon. May the many special memories of Nealon and the way he lived his life serve as a sweet and endearing legacy in the hearts of his family and friends. His family that remains are his two sisters, Sylvia Smith of Argyle, Texas and Bonnie Works and husband, Joe of Azle, Texas. A host of nieces and nephews and friends also survive. Nealon was preceded in death by his parents, Morris L. Quick and Ozella McGibony Quick, his wife, Earnestine, two infant children, brothers, Nolan and Wayne Quick and sister, Mildred Craig. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Cotton Plant Cemetery in Cotton Plant. Arrangements are by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley.
