Jim Lynch, 83, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Springdale to Raymond and Pearl Hunt Lynch.
He retired from Laymans in 1992, after 47 years of service, were he was a serviceman. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge and the Aleutian Islands and was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed trout fishing, woodworking, painting and reading western novels. He served in the Springdale Auxiliary Police.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Burba Lynch in 1997; three brothers, Bill Lynch, his twin brother, Charles Lynch, and Richard Lynch; one sister, Wanda Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Clytia Lynch of the home, to whom he was married Nov. 26, 1998; two daughters, Connie Buckle and husband Fred of Springdale and Billie Ames and husband Ron of Rogers; one brother, Bob Lynch and wife Elner of Springdale; one stepson, Tim Mulkey of Terre Haute, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Gala McBee and husband Bill of Tulsa, Okla., and Charlene McCandless and husband Bill of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14 at Sisco Chapel in Springdale. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery.
