Llewellyn (Lue) Madden, 85, 806 N. Pleasant, Springdale, died this morning at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. Born Nov. 25, 1888, he was the son of Melvin L. Madden and Maggie Hobbs Madden. He married Daisy Butler Oct. 2, 1933, in Taloga, Okla., was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Butler Madden of the home; five sons, Lee Madden, Lamar, Colo., Charley Madden, Spearman, Tex., Earl Madden, Amarillo, Tex., Jack Madden, Alhambra, Calif., and Emmett Madden, Springdale; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Williams, Bell Gardens, Calif., and Mrs. Anna Bell Lawrence, Springdale; one step-son, Ralph Bunch, Jr., Fayetteville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Sauerbry, Rogers; his stepmother, Mrs. Lenora Madden, Fayetteville, four brothers, George Madden, West Fork, Sherman Madden, Greenland, L. M. Madden, Cane Hill, and Richard Madden, Fayetteville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Rosemary Roberts and Mrs. Lila Jameson, both of Cane Hill; and 28 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel, with place of burial to he announced by Sisco.
