EDITH LORA BYRD, of Elizabeth, AR, daughter of the late James Newton Davis and Jennie Lynn (Guthrie) Davis was born February 21, 1906, in Elizabeth, Arkansas. She departed this life Sunday afternoon, March 20, 1994, at the Baxter County Regional Hospital in Mt. Home, Arkansas, at the age of 88 years and 27 days.
Edith was united in marriage to Everett Byrd on February 20, 1926, in Elizabeth, Arkansas, and to this union 8 children were born.
Edith spent her working years as a housewife and was of the Baptist faith.
Edith leaves to mourn her passing; 3 daughters; Evelyn Williams of Mt. Home, AR, Nadine Wallace of Gainesville, MO, and Betty Brison of Mt. Home, AR; 3 sons; Curtis Byrd of Alexander, AR, Terry Byrd of Donaldson, AR, and Sam Byrd of Wideman, AR; 2 sisters; Flora Shrable of Washington and Leotta Burns of Ozark, MO; 6 brothers; Elzie Davis of Washington, Tom Davis of Elizabeth, AR, Herman Davis of Mammoth Spring, AR, Jack Davis of Bakersfield, MO, Marvin Davis of Forsythe, MO, and Jim Davis of Reno, Nevada; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 children, and 1 sister.
