Hampton was born in TN to James and Elizabeth(Carlock). He married Eliza O 26 Jul 1858. In 1860 they are listed with two kids ages 7 and 3. These were two children who survived the Mountain Meadow Massacre and whose father was Hampton's cousin. Hampton and Eliza had 8 more children. In 1899 Hampton marries Mary A, who is 37 to his age 71. He dies in 1909.
