Long Description:
In 1845 the Russell Beall family donated land for the Bayou Meto Cemetary. Soon afterwards a two story log building was erected in a grove of oaks. Known as Bayou Meto Chapel, the structure served as a church, public school and meeting place for Jacinto Masonic Lodge which was chartered in 1868.
The white oak tree was estimated by the Arkansas Forestry Commission to be between 240 and 255 years old.
