(from Brightwater} Sarah Thomas Sisco was born in Lincoln county, Tenn. on June 27, 1862 and died at her home near Brightwater April 25. She was married in Tennessee on September 19, 1881 to J.T. Howell and shortly afterwards they came to Arkansas. To them was born thirteen children. Two died in infancy and eleven survive her. Besides these children and their families she is survived by her husband, J.T. Howell, and a brother of Madison county. All except John Howell of Okla., one of the children, were present at the funeral. Mrs. Howell was converted over thirty-five years ago at the Methodist church in Brightwater which church she joined and has belonged to ever since. Funeral services were conducted at Buttram's Chapel Sunday, Apr. 27 by her pastor, Rev. W.C. Hutton, and by her old friend and neighbor, J.H. Buttram. The large concourse of people present and the beautiful floral offerings bore testimony of the many warm, sympathetic friends she had and that her family still have. Mrs. Howell was a true Christian, a loving wife and mother, a kind neighbor and friend. Although she had been sick for months and suffered much she was seldom heard to complain but bore her afflictions with Christian patience and courage and left her family and friends who will cherish her memory, a precious heritage. Having served her generation long and well she fell asleep at high noon to awake in the glory land.
