Obituary - Mrs. Dorothy Pardon Beaton, 74, of Ivan, AR, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Desha County, she was raised and was a resident of Boydell for many years and a resident of Ivan for the past year. She was a counselor and caregiver, a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, Portland Chapter.
She is survived by a son, Jim Williams of Arizona; two daughters, Sue Cusick of Hamburg and Katy Hill of Benton; a brother, James Pardon of Rison; two sisters, Helen Davis and Mary Baxter, both of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, James Williams of Ivan, Jason Hill of Benton, and Seth Williams of Arizona and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Beaton, Sr., in 1997; a daughter, Elizabeth Lavonne Eisenhuth, in 1965; her parents, James R. "Jim"and Martha Hartless Pardon; and two brothers, Robert and Malcom Pardon.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Kitchens officiating. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rick Guyant, Larry Roberts, Garrett Burney, Robert Earl McCrory, Eric Young and Chuck Reaves. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Farrell and Jimmy Peden.
