Carol Jean Majors, age 71, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at home in Greers Ferry. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late J. W. and Alice Marie (Kopak) Hensley.
Mrs. Majors was a unique, fun loving woman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Freddie Joe Jones and L. D. (Sonny) Majors.
Mrs. Majors is survived by two daughters, Vicki Jean Beall and her husband, Tim, and Tina Marie Blackwell, all of Greers Ferry; one sister, Pat Davis of Oklahoma; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Keith and Evelyn Murphree, Candy Gage, and Wilma Jones; four grandchildren, Amber Rogers, Jesse Dyke, Brandon Dyke, and Ty Blackwell; three great-grandchildren, Jamie Rogers, Jacob Rogers, and Rebecca Rogers; and many young men who knew her as Granny Carol. Mrs. Majors is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 11, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lone Star Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Star Baptist Church with Bro. Rondal Richardson and Bro. Darvin Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery. Ty Blackwell, Alex Sosh, Nick Stark, Brian Chadwell, Ryan Ivy, and Ty Norris will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Tim Beall.
