Ronald Junior Blanton of Glencoe, Ark., was born on Feb. 16, 1940 in Kingston, Ill, the son of James William and Dollie Evangeline (Lee) Blanton. He departed this life on April 1, 2013, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 16 days.
Ronald was united in marriage to Rita Rae Oldfield on May 8, 1965, at Kingston, Ill. He was employed as a price coordinator at Town and Country for thirty three years, and had been employed with First National Builders for twenty years. He was of the Baptist faith, and served his country with the United States Army.
Ronald is survived by one son, Nick Blanton (Carla) of Salem, Ark.; two sisters, Loretta Egerstaffer (Delbert) of Edgerton, Wis., and Pamela Olson (Andy) of Rockford, Ill., and one brother, Jerry Helmer (Julie) of Madison, Wis.; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Jimmy Duane and Clifford Romane Blanton, and one sister Lela Casey.
Funeral services were held at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., on Thursday, April 4, 2013, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment was in the Wiseman Cemetery, Wiseman, Ark.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 3, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers were Kevin Pendergrass, Dennis Bookout, Sam Rossitto, Mike Dover, David Garland and Burton Yarnell.
Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.
