Obituary - Mrs. Mary Ann Austin Tumlison, 88, of Hamburg, who was born April 4, 1916, in Snyder, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A resident of Hamburg since 1976 and a lifelong resident of Ashley County, she was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated the Post Oak Grocery Store in Snyder for 33 years. She was a member of the Hamburg Church of Christ
She is survived by four sons, Harry Joe Tumlison and wife Bonnie of Crossett, Bill Tumlison and wife Ressie of Kingwood, Texas, Jerry Tumlison and wife Tammy of Van Buren, and Buck Tumlison and wife Kathy of Clinton, MS; four daughters, Mary Ann Morman and husband John of Hamburg, Linda Gilliam and husband Allen of Portland, Nancy Cowan and husband Lance of Nashville, TN and Pam Roberson and husband Doyle of Bastrop, LA; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel H. Tumlison, in 1999; her parents; Will and Willie Jackson Austin; a granddaughter, Tiffany Tumlison and two sisters, Geraldine Parkerson and Maysel Tucker.
Grave-side funeral services and burial were at 10 am Thursday May 6, at the Snyder Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Sponagule officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. .
