Died, on the 19th of October, 1905, just as the sun had risen over the Eastern horizon, to drive away the night, a dark cloud of gloom and sorrow settled down over the home of our dear friend. Mrs. Dr. Sykes,
caused by the Angel of death coming and claiming for its victim, her only dear little Hazel, aged 14 months and 6 days. Oh! how sad it is to be called upon so often to chronicle the death of our dear ones; and deposit their mortal remains in their last resting place. Little Johnnie Hazel was born of honorable parentage, August 13th, 1904. She was a
very bright child and being the only one of Dr. and Mrs. Sykes was an idol with them.
Just six months ago her father was called to enter the portals of glory. It seemed that his death was more than the young mother could bear, but she had a bright sweet baby; and when the hours seemed dark and
lonely, filled with grief and sorrow, only, she could think of her baby to comfort her. Little Hazel was sick only 4 days. With mothers' anxious look and loving care nothing seemed to relieve her. It seemed that no power on earth could save her. Life seems to have no charms for mother now. Hazel was a bright, affectionate child; to know her was to love her
She was always ready to meet her mamma with a sweet word and smile.
It seems that the young mother's heart will bleed, to have to part from her little Hazel; all she had to live for. All her hopes were placed in her baby and as soon as the angels claimed it, she softly and tenderly picked the little icy form up and there she gently laid down to rest. Cast all your cares on Jesus until He calls for you.

One Who Sympathizes.
