{from Pea Ridge) Again death has entered our neighborhood and claimed for its victim this time one of our prominent young ladies, Miss Josie Buttram. Josie has been a great sufferer for over a year with that dreadful disease, consumption, and Saturday night her spirit took its flight. While we mourn her loss so much we are sure she is at rest with the dear ones that have gone on before. She was a true Christian girl and a member of the M.E. church, South. We extend sympathies to all the bereaved friends and relatives. Interment was made in the family graveyard at Buttram’s chapel.

Our people learned of the death of Miss Josie Buttram Saturday night at her home on Pea Ridge with much regret. Miss Buttram attended Rogers Academy a number of years ago and visited here often at the home of her aunt, Mrs. John Stroud. She had a large circle of friends here and was a general favorite with all who knew her.

Mrs. John Stroud was called to Pea Ridge Thursday to attend the funeral of her niece, Miss Mary Buttram, who had died at her home the day previous after a short illness. She was a younger sister of Miss Mattie Buttram, who taught here several years ago and had many acquaintances in Rogers who greatly regretted to learn of her death. Miss Buttram was a teacher and was also well known as an elocutionist.
