Owen Babb of Concord died November 4, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born March 10, 1922 in Shiloh, he was 81. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Ollie (Grimes) Babb.

He was a farmer and a truck driver for Lenier Trucking. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Banner Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil Babb and Tom Babb and one half-brother, Otis Babb.

He is survived by his wife, Vena M. Cousins Babb of Concord; two daughters, Brenda Sutherland of Drasco and Elaine Clark of Concord; one sister, Nettie Trammell of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Shawn Clark, Gary Lynn, Gregory Sutherland and Michelle Davis and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held November 6 at the Banner Church of Christ with John Hitt officiating. Interment followed in Cross Roads Cemetery in Greers Ferry. Pallbearers were Gary Sutherland, Gary Lynn Sutherland, Greg Sutherland, Shawn Clark, Larry Davis and Derrick Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Don Babb, Larry Babb, Gary Thomas, Joey Babb and Danny Babb.
