"Uncle Bob" Freeman Died At Yellville Sunday.
Mr. R.A. Freeman, a lifelong resident of Izard County and a former citizen of Calico Rock, died at the home of his son T.H. Freeman at Yellville, last Sunday morning at 10 a.m. following an illness of several days. Mr Freeman was 77 years of age and practically all his life was spent in this county. He was a splendid citizen and leaves a host of friends to mourn his death. For many years he lived near Jumbo and Melbourne. He leaves a wife and four sons; T.H. and Lee Roy of Yellville, Alva of Searcy, and Rufus of Imboden, to mourn his death. Buriel took place in the Combs Cemetery near Melbourne, Monday a 2:00 o'clock.

Robert Alexander Freeman was the son of Theophilus Rucker Freeman, TN, and Margaret Hinkle Bigham, TN. He married Emma Kitchens, born Oct 1864, Searcy Co. AR. They were the parents of Ethna, Christopher, Rufus, Lee Roy, Theopolis Hayden, Alva, Homer, and Zelma. Emma died in 1907. His second marriage was Aug. 29, 1907, Izard Co., to Florence Elizbeth Barnes, born Sept. 23, 1864, AR. She was the mother of Sarah. Robert and Florence had no children. In the 1930's census, his son-in-law and step daughter also lived with them; James N. Hargis and Minnie Dixon Thompson-Hargis, and her son Cleo. His step daughter Sarah Dixon also lived with them. May Robert rest in peace.
(Note: In an effort to discover if is middle name was Allen or Alexander I searched records I could find. I could find no proof of either name, but from census records it is determined he and Emma were married in 1881 in Izard County. The 1900 census says they were married 18 years and their oldest child was born in Jan of 1882. Also in the same census Robert says he was born in May of 1859 instead of 1858. In all census records from 1860 thu 1930 Robert says he was born in Arkansas not Tennessee.)
