Obituary - Patsy Scranton, 73, of Hamburg died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. A native of Elaine, a resident of Hamburg and Ashley County for many years and a former resident of Monticello and Fayetteville, she was a retired nutritionist and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Kelley of Hamburg and Ronnie Kelley of Portland; two daughters, Nancy Rice of Hamburg and Sandy Canterbury of Hot Springs; a sister, Mary Gee of Crossett; a sister-in-law, Heidi Gee of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Scranton, in 2005; her parents, Walter & Jessie Opal Howie Gee; a brother, Homer Gee; and a sister, Sarah Gee Richardson.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, at the Southside Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Pullin and Eugene Howie officiating. Burial was to follow at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Allen Rice, Jason Rice, Chris Rice, Steven Scroggins, Jacob Gulledge and James Henderson. Honorary pallbearer is to be Charles Robert Kelley.
Memorials may be made to the Snyder Cemetery Association, c/o Sue Bailey, 1977 Holmes Road, Searcy, AR 72143. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com.
