Heber Springs, Ark. -- Hugh Allan Baker, age 59, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Concord, California, on March 7, 1951, he was the son of the late Carl S. Baker and Caroll Paullus Baker Wik.

Hugh was a farmer and a retired probation and parole officer for the Department of Corrections. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Side.

In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Gracie Isabella.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Davis Baker of Greers Ferry; one son, Jayce Baker and his wife, Katrina, of Greers Ferry; three daughters, Brandy McClendon and her husband, Lee, and Cynthia Verser and her husband, Austin, all of Greers Ferry, and Brinnan Brown and her husband, Frank, of Tomball, Texas; one brother, Eric Baker and his wife, Jeri, of Morro Bay, California; one sister, Collene Halldorson and her husband, Al, of Fairfield Bay; and three grandchildren, Hannah Grace McClendon, Brice Allan McClendon, and Dawson Jayce Baker. Hugh is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the West Side Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at the West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Van Harness, Rev. Darvin Carlton, and Rev. Jerry Cothren officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery. Brent Hunt, Benji Hunt, Chastin Hunt, Devin Wells, Blake Baker, Daniel Baker, Brian Halldorson, and Kenny Enns will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Epperson, Frank Stetter, Mike Knapp, Jay Cupit, and Jerry Holmes.
