*Obituary - Mr. Ray D. Maglothin, 85, of Montrose, who was born August 21, 1918, in Marmaduke, died Thursday, February 26, 2004, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was a resident of Montrose and Boydell for most of his life, a retired farmer, a Christian and an U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vonnie Lee Pamplin Maglothin, in 1996; a grandson, Robert Earl Maglothin; his parents, W.L. and Mary Jane Roth Maglothin; three brothers, Roy, David and Mack Maglothin and two sisters, Cora Blackwell and Flora Maglothin.
He is survived by his son, Pat Maglothin of Boydel; two daughters, Jane Graves and Ann Collins, both of Hamburg; a brother, Robert Maglothin of Dermott; four grandchildren, Paul Maglothin of Montrose, Jodi Graves Carney of Mountain Home, Marc Collins of Hamburg and Becky Collins Gray of Hackberry, LA, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 28, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Sponaugle officiating. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Coley "Bubba" Lovett, Jerry and Ronnie Pamplin, Keith Ladd, Dewayne Massey, Junior Brooks, Glen Hayes, Ricky Russell and Jimmy Moore. Honorary pallbearers were C.H. Hennington, Sid Ashcraft and C.G. Perkins. Memorials may be made to the Ashley County Health Foundation, PO Box 400, Crossett, AR 71635.
