Obituary - Mrs. Eva Land, 90, of Hamburg died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at her residence. A native of Bradley County, Arkansas; a resident of Hamburg since 1954 and a former resident of the Mount Pleasant community outside Hamburg & Portland, she was a homemaker and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Effie Outlaw Wolfe; a brother, John Wolfe; and three sisters, Minnie Ferrell, Winnie Coldiron & Linnie Dunn.
She is survived by a son, Carlton E. Land and wife Juanita of Woodbridge, VA; two daughters, Marion Welch and husband Paul of McFarland, CA, and Charlie Mae Wallace and husband Herbert of Hamburg; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Williams officiating. Pallbearers were Norman Higginbotham, Don Kelley, Norvell Lee Cecil, Bobby Jones, Danny Kirkland & Jo Mack Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
