PEA RIDGE — Joe Neal Pitts, 88, of Pea Ridge died Aug. 15, 2008, at his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Pea Ridge to Charles and Phebe Buttram Pitts. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a clubhouse manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers, a letter carrier for the Postal Service in Los Angeles, a security guard for Wal-Mart and wrote a column for the Pea Ridge Times for several years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Pitts.
Survivors include wife Mary Alice Pitts; two sons, Ralph Pitts of Bentonville and Frederick Pitts of Colorado; five daughters, Jeanette Burr of California, Martha Morrison and Melissa Littrell, both of Rogers, Teresa Skelton and Gail Simpkins, 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge, online at siscofuneralhome.net.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pea Ridge Church of Christ with Malcolm Scott officiating. Burial will be at Buttram Chapel Cemetery with military honors by Veterans of Foreign War post.
