Mrs. Rheaber Bruce Hammonds, 94, of Kansas City, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010.
She was born on March 28, 1916 in Springfield, Ark. to William and Lucinda Baskins Bruce.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters; her husband, Clyde; a son; and a grandchild.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Springfield, Ark.
In January 1934, she married Clyde Hammonds and had six children, Leo, Curtis, Della, Loisteen and two died as infants.
Rheaber relocated to Kansas City, Mo. in 1994 and united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by one son, Curtis Hammons Sr. of Kansas City, Mo.; two daugthers, Della Hammons of Kansas City, Mo., and Loisteen C. Mitchem of Grandview, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Springfield, Ark.
Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton.
