SPRINGDALE — John Daniel Hamilton, 83, of Springdale, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 16, 1928, in Springdale to Jessie and Mae Savage Hamilton.
John D. was a member of the Westridge Freewill Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He owned and operated G&H Bandag and other businesses with Skelton Brothers Inc. in Springdale for over 40 years. He was the President of the Friendship Cemetery Association and he was an avid Razorback fan.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Hamilton and Dennis Hamilton; three sisters, Jessie Lee Stout, Laura Jane Parson and Juneviee Cate. Survivors include his wife, Frances Hamilton of the home; one son, Danny Paul Hamilton of Springdale; one daughter, Penny Dameron-Hicks and husband Jeff of Springdale; two sisters, Christabell Bowen of Bethel Heights and Libby Forcum of New Hall, Calif.; three grandchildren, Krystle Dameron, Kodee Hamilton and Erin Hamilton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chape1 of Springdale with Rev. Loyd Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Kenneth Bailey, Forrest Bowen, Mike Hamilton, Wayne McNeely, Kenneth Post and Tim Upton.
