June 4, 1883 - June 6, 1959
Jesse E. Mauldin, aged 76, a native of Calhoun County and well known resident of Woodberry community died Friday at a Camden nursing home. He is survived by 19 nephews and nieces and one aunt, Mrs. Hattie Smith of Warren. Funeral services were held at the New Hope Church by Rev. Wiley Wagnor and Rev. J. W. Bowen with Jesse Autrey, Louis Proctor, Milas Proctor, Marcus Proctor, Ed Link and Cleasie Mauldin as pallbearers. Nieces and nephews of the deceased who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Proctor, Mr. and Mrs. Ol L. Johnston, Little Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Milas Proctor of Houston, TX, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Proctor of El Dorado and Mrs. Cub Newton of Camden, Mr. and Mrs. Cleasie Mauldin of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. R. Summers, Mrs. Swanee Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Link of Bearden; Judge and Mrs. Jesse Autrey, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Autrey of Hampton. (Calhoun Herald - June 25, 1959)
