Carl Reed Shaver, 53, of Melbourne died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at White River Medical Center. Born Wednesday, January 17, 1951, in Gid, he was the son of Troy Shaver and Icephine (Brooks) Shaver.

He was a retired logger and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl (Brooks) Shaver of Melbourne; one stepson, Sean Brooks, and wife Kelly of Desha; one daughter, Shelly Medlock and husband Ken of Prim; two brothers, Troy Shaver and Morris Shaver of Melbourne; four sisters, Maxine Eddy of Melbourne, Ernestine Shaver of Sidney, Rose Parmer of Locust Grove and Betty Bangs of Desha; two grandchildren, Sadie Medlock and Emily Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Diane Ring; and one infant brother, Donnie Shaver.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m.,Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne. Bro. John High will officiate assisted by Bro. Elvis Sneathern and Bro. Ricky Brooks.

Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery in Guion under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.

Pallbearers will be Paul Shaver, Jeffry Eddy, Bobby Eddy, Jason Eddy, Derrick Bangs, Dustin Bangs, and Randy Ring.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at the Roller-Couch Funeral Home in Melbourne.
