Claude Harmon McCullough, son of the late Daniel Boyd McCullough and Zora Bell Bingham McCullough, was born November 27, 1932 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He departed this life April 16, 2018 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 20 days.

He was united in marriage to Elva Jean Smith December 4, 1954 and together they raised three children. Claude spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years he worked as a tug boat operator and in a chemical plant as a crane operator. He was a member of the masonic lodge.

Claude is survived by three children: William Dalton "Bill" McCullough and wife Kristi of Baytown, Texas and Claude D "Bobby Daniel" McCullough of Melbourne and Linda Miller of Oregan; nine grandchildren: Bill Miller, Jeremy Miller, Paul Jeffery McCullough, Jeremy McCullough, Jennifer Newton, Carl Dyke, Christopher McCullough, Casey McCullough and Corey McCullough; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Friday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Bruce Qualls officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery.

MELBOURNE — Elva Jean Smith McCullough, 70, of Melbourne died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in Calico Rock. Born Oct. 1, 1938, in Free Stone County, Texas, she was the daughter of Archie and Eura Kennedy Smith.

She was united in marriage to Claude H. McCullough on Dec. 4, 1954. She was a homemaker and was a member of Melbourne Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years; two sons, William D. McCullough of Baytown, Texas, and Claude D. McCullough of Melbourne; a stepdaughter, Linda Miller of Rockport, Texas; a brother, Don Smith of Alvin, Texas; five sisters, Juanita Gilliam of Donie, Texas, Bonnie Bell of Teague, Texas, Virgie White of Texas City, Texas, Glenda Matteo of Flower Mound, Texas, and Janice Worthy of Santa Fe, Texas; nine grandchildren, Bill Miller, Jeremy Miller, Paul Jeffery McCullough, Jennifer McCullough, Carl Dyke, Christopher McCullough, Casey McCullough, Corey McCullough and Jeremy McCullough; six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James "Sonny" Smith; and a sister, Joyce Coward.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Jerry Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dyke, Christopher McCullough, Casey McCullough and Corey McCullough.
