June 27, 1931 - November 24, 2012
Virnest Jake "Shorty" Hamilton, 73, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 n a local hospital.
He was a retired truck driver for Rainwater Trucking.
He is survived by two daughters, Lesia Hunter of Cedarville and Renea Spoon of Fort Smith; two sons, Timmy Hamilton of Van Buren and Robert Sharp of Cedarville; two sisters, Daisy Skaggs of Alma and Lois Coker of Rudy; one brother, R.G. Hamilton of West Fork; his companion, Shirlene Dickey; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and his dog Sam.
Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Hunter, Jr., Charles Alverson, Bosco Hunter, Randall Joslin and Tyler Joslin. Reverend Wayne Smothers will officiate the service.
The Family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren, AR.
