Obituary - James H. Corder, 73, of Snyder died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Line and a resident of Snyder for most of his life, he retired from the Georgia-Pacific paper mill in 1999 and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder. He was an avid horseman, hunter and a former president and member of the Crossett Riding Club.
He is survived by a son, Eddie Corder and wife Penny of Hamburg; a daughter, Terri Thomas and husband Sam of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; a sister, Betty R. Jones of Snyder; and two grandchildren, Sam Thomas and Kristina Thomas of Hattiesburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Sims Corder, in 2004 and his parents, Jim and Bessie Mae Adair Corder.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Burial was to follow at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Teddy Hickman, Dewey "Scutter" Kilcrease, Belvin Hamm, Johnny Etheridge, Marvin Sims and Sam Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were to be Tip Gifford, J.W. Brown, Julian Estelle, Eddie Wayne Burch and Tommy Burch.
Memorials may be made to the Snyder Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Sue Bailey, 1977 Holmes Road, Searcy, AR 72143 or to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207.

Obituary - Lorene Corder, 64, of Snyder, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at her residence. A native of Chicot County, a resident of Snyder for many years and a former resident of Leland, MS, she was a homemaker and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder.



She is survived by her husband, James H. Corder of Snyder; a son, Eddie Corder and wife Penny of Hamburg; a daughter, Terri Thomas and husband Sam of Hattiesburg, MS; three brothers, Melton Sims of Lavaca, Carrol Sims of Lake Village, and Marvin Sims of Leland, MS; a sister, Robbie Hammock of Leland, MS; two grandchildren, Sam & Kristina Thomas of Hattiesburg, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross & Clara Watson Sims, two sisters, Carrie Hampton and her twin, Florene Ponder; two brothers, Vernon & Archie Sims.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, November 22, in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Revs. Terry Greenwood and Hurley Ashcraft officiating. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Teddy Hickman, Dewey Kilcrease, Belvin Hamm, Justin Lindsey, Sam Thomas and Daniel Sims. Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Garcia, Gary Sims, Buck Sims, Albert Hammock & Ronnie McDonald. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
