Obituary - Mr. Jim Corder, 93, of Snyder, died Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the Golden Living Center in Crossett.
A native of Ashley County and a lifelong resident of Snyder, he was a retired timber contractor and farmer, an U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder since 1925.
He is survived by a son, James H. Corder; a daughter, Betty R. Jones, both of Snyder; a brother, John Corder of Hollandale, MS; three grandchildren, Jeff Foster and wife Deanna and Eddie Corder and wife Penny, all of Hamburg, and Teri Thomas and husband Sammie of Hattiesburg, MS; and four great-grandchildren, Liz and Daniel Foster, Kristine and Sam Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Adair Corder, in 1999; his parents, Simpson and Gertrude Pamplin Corder; a grandson, Tommy Foster; two sisters, Ruth McDougald and Inez Kinsley; and two brothers, Clifford and W.O. Corder.
Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Revs. Eugene Howie and Charles Pullin officiating. Burial was to follow at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Dewey "Scutter" Kilcrease, Teddy Hickman, Johnny Etheridge, Don Williamson, David Ladd, and Chris Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers were to be John William Spivey and Herman Curtis. Memorials may be made to the Snyder Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Sue Bailey, 1977 Holmes Road, Searcy, AR 72143. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
