Rosa Emily Davis Holleman age 98 of Searcy, died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Oakdale Nursing Center. She was born October 6, 1907, the second child of Bob and Emma Davis in the Oak Grove/Albion community in White County, Arkansas where she lived all her life except for a few years during WWII. She is survived by a son, B.T. “Bud” Phifer of Searcy, Arkansas, and a daughter, Wilda Givens, Yuma, Arizona; three grandchildren, Gary Phifer, Simon Island, Georgia, Don Gray, Phoenix, Arizona, and Jamie Gray Penny, Yuma, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren, Cari Phifer Nugent, Frisco, Texas, Philip Phifer, Portland, Oregon, Lara Gray, Canyon Lake, Texas, Ross Gray, Phoenix, Arizona, Liam Penny, Colin Penny, and Emily Penny, Yuma, Arizona; two great great grandsons, Nate and Drew Nugent, Frisco, Texas; and six nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jennings Powell, Buford Phifer, and Guthrie Holleman; one granddaughter Vicki Gray; one daughter-in-law Wanda Phifer; and one granddaughter-in-law Martha Phifer; her parents, three brothers Jess, Ardell, and Delbert Davis; one sister Eula Reynolds; and one niece and nephew. Rose attended the Oak Grove Methodist and Baptist Churches and was a member of the Pangburn Eastern Star. She was known for her knowledge and interest in the rituals of the Eastern Star. She would travel throughout this area to participate as long as someone would drive her there. She was a wonderful, loving daughter and mother. She lived a long, productive life and was loved and respected by her loved ones and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, June 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment following at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
