Bram DeGidts was born on April 5, 1927. He graduated from Agriculture College and came to the United States in 1948. He lived with a family in Iowa to learn to speak English. While there he learned about farming and raising livestock. He later went back to Holland and married Riet. She then came to America with her new husband and they bought a farm in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where they raised cattle and grew corn. Bram was very involved in agriculture for many years. They bought a ranch near Kansas, Oklahoma. He loved raising and working with cattle and he did so until he retired. They sold the ranch and moved to Siloam Springs. Bram loved fishing in the Northwest Territory. He also was very involved in building and flying scale radio controlled airplanes. Survivors include his wife Riet of the home; two children, Dr. Renee Hammer and her husband Herb of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Bruce DeGidts of Owasso, Oklahoma and two granddaughters Holly Renee and Melanie Michelle. Bram was preceded in death by a son Richard Antoine.
