STEINBECK, Willis E. - Willis E. Steinbeck died yesterday at his home near the green house after several weeks illness, having been stricken with paralysis. His funeral was held this afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the Rev. J. Wilson Crichlow, the interment being in the City cemetery. Mr. Steinbeck was born in Iowa but spent the greater part of his life in South Bend, Ind.. He was 68 years old and is survived by his wife and no children. He is best known by his love for flowers, many homes on the South side being made cheery by gifts of them which he raised when he and his wife lived in the little cottage that was located on the lot between the Applegate's home and where he raised such beautiful specimens that friends passed that way especially to admire them, which exemplifies his character, his love for all things in nature.
