Lilla M. Burns, age 73, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away at her home on Friday, July 17, 2009. Born in Brownsville, Arkansas, on August 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ray H. and Cecil Nadine (Verser) Lafferty.
Mrs. Burns was a retired court reporter and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Burns of Gainesville, Georgia; two sons, Gary Lynn Burns of Pangburn and David L. Burns of Modesto, California; one daughter, Greta Henry of Gainesville, Georgia; two brothers, James Lafferty of Heber Springs and Dale Lafferty of Hope; one sister, Gale Crews of Hope; two grandchildren, John Lee Campbell of Tampa, Florida, and Wendi Ray Mathews of Acworth, Georgia; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Burns is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
