Wilbert J "Dub" Black, 91 of Searcy passed away Friday, April 2, 2010. He was born in 1918 to the late William Black and Estella Smith Black. Mr. Black was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and was also a minister in which he evangelized and pastored for more than fifty-five years. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II.
Preceding Mr. Black in death were his parents, three brothers, five sisters and a host of friends.
Mr. Black is survived in life by his wife of 68 years Alma Black; daughters Carolyn Black Daniels of Springfield, Mo; Wynette Black Hughes (Edwin) of Searcy, Ar.; four grandchildren, Shauna Morris of Tx.; Shelly Stephens of Mo.; Dr. Bradley Hughes of Searcy; and Marshall Hughes of Little Rock.
The family will receive guests at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday April 5, 2010 at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
