Obituary- Sally Nelms, 49, of Snyder died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. A native of Iowa City, Iowa, and a resident of Snyder for the past 21 years, she was a homemaker and loved the outdoors and riding four wheelers.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Nelms of Snyder; a son, Alan Tew of Crossett; five daughters, Stacy Cessor and husband Clay of Portland, Melissa Nelms and companion Johnny Smith of Crossett, Brandy Thomas and husband Sean of Monticello, Amy Hayes and husband Ronnie of Crossett and Misty Charleston of Parkdale; her natural mother, Sharon May of Langville, Iowa; a brother, Jim Torp of Iowa and 23 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emmily Nelms and her parents, James and Betty Torp.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder with Revs. Charles Pullin and Warren Finney officiating. Burial was in the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frankie, Jackie, Mark, David and Ronnie Nelms and Wayne Oliver. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Nelms, Johnny Mack Williams and Jimmy Pamplin. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
