Funeral services for Samuel Rodman Stout, 72, resident of Siloam Springs, who died Friday in a Tulsa, Okla. hospital after a brief illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs with the Rev. Clifford Palmer and Dr. Ellis Tiffany officiating.

Born June 17, 1880 at Albert Lee, Minn., he was the son of Frank and Lucy Stout. He was a retired instructor and former head of the Agricultural Department of John Brown University for 23 years. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Zeta honorary societies, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth, of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Bettye Jane Tiffany, Ridgecreat, Calif., and Mrs. Joan Miller of Wake Village, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Lavina AufderHeider of Rogers, Mrs. Alice Brandon, Covina, Calif. and Mrs. Lucy Houser, Orland, Calif.; and fire grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Pyeatte Funeral Service. The family requests no flowers.

Ruth "Peggy" Hyatt Stout, 97, of Ridgecrest, Calif., died Sunday, Nov. 8.

She was born Nov. 15, 1894, in Monticello, to Robert Fee Hyatt and Anna "Effie" Rachel Clayton Hyatt. A longtime professor at the University of Arkansas and John Brown University, she had lived in Ridgecrest for the past eight years. She was a member of the Baptist church and of P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Survivors are two daughters, Bettye Jane Tiffany of Ridgecrest, and Joan Miller of Wake Village, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs with the Rev. Clifford Palmer officiating. Service is under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Memorials may be to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs.
