John "Frank" Caraway of Mount Pleasant, son of the late Tom and Lizzie Winkle Caraway was born August 10, 1918 at Lafferty. He died January 13, 1999. he was 80.
Mr. Caraway was a farmer and retired employed of Con-Agra and a member of the Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Furbie Ann Craig Caraway of the home; one son, Ronnie Caraway of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Glenna Helm of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Flino Caraway of Sidney; one half-brother, Paul Caraway of Little Rock; one step-brother, Amos Sipe of Mount Pleasant; two half-sisters, Marie Dover of Batesville, and Grace Finley of Batesville; one step-sister-sister, Jean Sears of Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Debbie Caraway.
Funeral services were held January 15, 1999 at Pine Grove Community Church with Reverend Jerry Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Phillip Helm, Phillip Conrad, Gary Moser, Robert Ramsey, Carl Burleson and Gary Sims. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Johnson, Larry Cooley and Dicky Johnson.
Burial was at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
