*Obituary

Jewel Morgan went home to be with the Lord and family members who've gone on before, on August 17, 2011, at Merced, California.

Jewel Moore was born in Morganton, Arkansas, on September 22, 1921, to Jesse and Intha Moore. She moved to California with her family when she was twelve years old. On August 29, 1942, she married Harvey Byron Morgan, who was a childhood friend as well as a friend of the family. Byron and Jewel made their homes in Merced and Atwater and raised their family in the Merced/Atwater areas until returning to Arkansas in 1965. After the death of her husband and daughter, she returned to Merced to be near her son in 2007.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her family, her passions were her close relationship with the Lord Jesus, her church family (both here and in Arkansas), and her in-depth knowledge and understanding of biblical scripture.

Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Byron; daughter, Susan Stark; her parents; a sister, Virpal Collins; brothers, Doyne Moore and Ray Moore; and three great grandchildren, Tyler Ramirez, Dylan Ramirez, and Michael Ramirez.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Morgan (Lana) of Merced; brother, Arnold of Lakeport, California; son-in-law, Scott Stark of Greers Ferry, Arkansas; grandchildren, Shane Stark, Stacy Bangert (Jon), Tara Morgan-Ramirez (Bart), and Shea Morgan. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren, Shana Stark, Mary Stark, Megan Stark, Isaiah Stark, Kristopher Bangert, Samantha Bangert, Morgan Ramirez, Maxwell Ramirez, and Matteo Ramirez. In addition, she is survived by one great-great grandchild, Elijah Ryan Stark.
