White River Current
Edna Lori Bookout Sims of Mount Pleasant, daughter of the late John and Lula Mae Pouge Bookout, was born May 30, 1913, in Wiseman. She died December 8, 1996 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was 83.
Mrs Sims was a retired housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Joe Sims and Garry Dean Sims of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Gwenda Helen Moore of Mountain Home; one brother Clifton Bookout of Violet Hill; one sister, Octavia Reasoner of Wenatchee, Washington; five grandchildren, Jason Sims of Kingsville, Missouri; Richard Moore of Mountain Home; Tiffany Davenport of Kingsville, Missouri; Stephanie Weatherford of Mount Pleasant and Jennifer Sims of Mount Pleasant; and two great-grandchildren, Misty and Hailey Moore, both of Mountain Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam Sims; her parents, three brothers, Lehman, Troy and Francis Bookout and one grandson, Larry Moore.
Services were held December 10, 1996 at the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant with Jim Sanders officiating.
Pallbearers were Carl Franks, Randy Franks, Roy Bookout, Jerry Bookout, Glen Helm and Ronnie Caraway. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Hickerson, Steven Bray, Ronnie Love, Dale Staggs, Dr. Ron Bates and Hank Sollock.
