Juanita Christene Tune, 76, of Chester died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a caretaker at Miller's Greenhouse. She was a member of the Chester Freewill Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was a former mayor and city council member of Chester. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Freewill Baptist Church in Chester with burial at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband, Argus; three daughters, Lola Tune of Fort Smith, Vivian Juanita Abel of Alma and Melody Jane Castillo of Mulberry; two sons, Billy Easley of Stigler and Larry Perryman of Alma; three sisters, Martha Elizabeth Price of Rudy, Mary Sue Osborne of Albuquerque, N.M, and Alma Waters of Rudy; two brothers, James E. Jones of Seligman, Mo., and Joe Carl Jones of Pocola; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James E., Joe, Bobby and James L. Jones; Dennis Easley and Renda Tedford. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Times Record Online
