McDANIEL, Nannie D. TALIAFERRO - Died, at her home in this city Sunday morning, March 11, 1888, Mrs. Nannie D. McDaniel, wife of Hon. E.S. McDaniel, aged about twenty-nine years. The subject of this sketch was the daughter of R.J. Taliaferro of Williamson Co., Tenn. where she was born. She was married to Mr. McDaniel March 23rd, 1881 and came to Bentonville where she has since made her home and where she was well and favorably known for her many genial qualities as a wife, mother, relative and friend. She has been ill some time with that fell destroyer, consumption, and while the result was easily foreseen, it came somewhat sooner than was anticipated. She was up and about in her room during the day Saturday but passed into the eternal rest just after midnight and in the sacred flush of the Sabbath morning. Monday evening following, her infant son, scarce six months old, followed her into the realm of rest to be greeted on the ever-blessed shore with an angel mother's impassioned kiss. Burial took place on Tuesday, mother and son sleeping in the same coffin. The grief-laden husband and parent, and his two remaining children, a boy and a girl, have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their hour of supreme sorrow.
