Son of Forest Hammon Foster & Myrtle Drucilla Clay Foster
Husband of Norma J. Foster (married May 9, 1951)
Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Missouri, April 13, 2011:
Reverend James U. Foster, 84, passed away April 11, 2011. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at Pentecostal Tabernacle, 341 S. 72nd St., Kansas City, KS, where funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery, Viola, AR, at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 16. James was born October 1, 1926 in Bexar, AR. He was a retired printer with the Printers Local #16 and an ordained minister of the Pentecostal faith. Rev. Foster pioneered the Bethel Pentecostal Church at 7945 S. Benton St. in Kansas City, MO. He faithfully pastored the church flock for 20 years. He also pastored the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Kansas City, KS. He over saw the construction of both church buildings still in use today. Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather was at home with his family when he passed to be with his Lord, Jesus. He enjoyed his devotion time, reading the Bible, fishing, telling fish stories, and gardening with his wife. He was loved and will be missed. The family is thankful to KC Hospice for their assistance. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Norma J. Foster; son, Leland C. Foster and wife Julia; daughter, Debra J. Glasscock and husband, Kenneth; sister, Marguerite Woody; four grandchildren: Leland C. Foster, II, Luke A. Glasscock, Nathan A. Glasscock, and Christina M. Foster; two great grandchildren, Nicholas L. Foster and Tyler Lee Gordon Duley. (Arr.: Park Lawn Funeral Home, 816- 523-1234).
