SILOAM SPRINGS — Dr. Harold M. Flickinger, 98, of Siloam Springs died May 12, 2000, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1901, in Morrill, Kan., to Joseph J. and Anna May Miller Flickinger. He graduated from Morrill High Schoo1 and the dental school of the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He had been a resident of Siloam Springs since 1924 and practiced general dentistry in Siloam Springs from 1924 to 1977.

He was a dental student insurance counselor for the American Dental Association for four years and a part-time instructor at John Brown University for three years. He had served as a trustee of the American Dental Association and as president of the Arkansas State Dental Association. He was a lecturer and writer on dental subjects and sports and was a speaker at the 16th-annual National Rural Health Conference.

He was the delegate from the American Dental Association to the 1959 meeting of the Federation Dentaire International. He was a fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the International College of Dentistry and was a member of Who's Who in American Dentistry. He gave a weekly radio program, "Dental Health," in 1937.

He was a member of the Siloam Springs School Board, an officer in the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, a Scoutmaster and a member of Marquis Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in Arkansas Lives. In 1996, he was presented the Pioneer Citizens Award. He was a Sunday school teacher for 31 years at First United Methodist Church and Sunday school superintendent for three years. He was also on the church's administrative board for 27 years and on its board of trustees for three years.

Survivors include one daughter, Vivian Stolen of Tulsa, Okla., one grandson, Fin Stolen of Aurora, Ill.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Bill Eason officiating. Burial will he in Oak Hill Cemetery.
