Melvin Hudson Moore of Mountain View went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 3rd.
Melvin was born in Bridgeville, Delaware, to Leroy and Lillian Harris Moore on Feb. 19, 1925.
He worked in an ice plant in Bridgeville, Del., during World War II with German prisoners of war. He was married to Mary Louise Elliott, the love of his life, for over 56 years.
Melvin had a strong work ethic that he instilled in his children. He was a crop and cattle farmer and master carpenter. He was able to see a project and build it. Melvin donated many hours helping build churches.
Melvin chose Mountain View as his retirement home because of his love of the Ozark Mountain music. He enjoyed playing his Dobro on the square, at the Folklore Society, and weekly at the local nursing home.
Melvin is survived by his three children, Michael (Linda), Carol Dodson (Steve), Marsha Jackson (Billy). He was also cherished by his three grandchildren: Rodney Jackson (Amanda), Lauren Moore, and Brian Jackson. Melvin is also survived by his sister, Grace Ash, of Bridgeville, Del.

Visitation was Tuesday, May 4th from 6-8 p.m. at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mt. View.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 5th at Pearson Cemetery, Quitman, AR, with Brother Donald Strait.

Mary Louise Moore of Mountain View, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on January 11, 2008. She was the fifth child of ten children born to Greensbury and Mary Murphy Elliott on March 7, 1930 in Georgetown, Delaware. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Elliott and a sister, Hazel Workman both of the State of Delaware.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and the native folk music on the square of Mountain View. Her artistic ability allowed her to enjoy many hours of making crafts, painting, woodcarving, and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Rodney Jackson, Lauren Moore, and Brian Jackson. Mary had a deep trust in the Lord and relied on His strength throughout her lifetime.
Survivors include her husband of over 56 years, Melvin Hudson Moore, three children, Michael Moore and wife Linda of Heber Springs, Carol Moore Dodson and husband Steve of Tarrytown, New York; Marsha Moore Jackson and husband Billy of Bee Branch and her three grandchildren. Mary is also survived by four sisters, Jeanette Melson, Doris Tubman, and Ruth Scott of Delaware and Norma Esque of Port Orange, Florida; three brothers, Joe Elliot, Melvin Elliot, and Robert Elliott all of Delaware. She will be dearly missed by many relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation is 6 – 8 p.m., January 12, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mtn. View, Arkansas.
Graveside service is 3 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Pearson Cemetery, Quitman, Arkansas with Bro. Paul Lancaster officiating.

Pallbearers are Brian Jackson, Rodney Jackson, Bentley Stracener, Stanley Burroughs, Billy Jackson and Steve Dodson. Honorary pallbearers are Ike Herrington and Cletus Smith.
